Customer reviews
Good, until it broke 5 days after I received it.
by .. D. Casillas (Pittsburgh, PA.)
I had a wonderful experience with this bike up until yesterday. I received it last Thursday and was able to enjoy it a couple times over the Memorial Day weekend when I went bike riding with my family. However, yesterday on my way home from work (the first day I took my bike to work), I was going up a hill and I tried switching the gear to the "1" setting and it literally broke on me in the middle of the road. Seems that by trying to shift to the first gear, the gear changer got stuck, broke off, and went through the spikes of the back tire, causing it to stop completely. I was left there with a mess of gears and chains.
I should point out that when I received the bike from Amazon, the bike was mostly assembled (gears, brakes). You just need to install the front wheel, pedals, and the handle bars.
I now have to deal with figuring out how to get this exchanged/fixed since I bought this online from Amazon and do no look forward to return mailing an entire bike. The box that the bike came in was large as expected, so I had to throw it away.
Perhaps I will update this reviews once I am able to return this bike or exchange it.
I mostly disappointed because I thought this bike was perfect, but then it broke on a single gear change.
